Independence is a newer neighborhood community in south Central Austin consisting of single-family detached condominiums. Construction began in 2007 by Newmark Homes which has since been bought out by Scott Felder Homes. Once this neighborhood is complete, there will be approximately 233 homes. This heavily treed area with walking paths and a pond features bungalow-style homes ranging in size from around 1200sf to almost 2500sf and are priced from the mid $200K’s to almost $300K (in 2010). The front entrance to this neighborhood is off Manchaca Road south of Stassney Lane across from Garrison Park. The rear entrance can be found off of Westgate Blvd. to Blarwood to Amur.
